Dinoディーノ, dīno is a Fallen Angel and the sixth seat member of the Octagram. He was one of the Seven Angels of Origin and is now one of the Seven Heavenly Generals under Michael and Feldway.

Appearance[]

Dino has the appearance of a youthful man that could be described as beautiful if it weren't for the rings under his eyes and his sleepy mannerisms. He has messy purple-silver hair and dull grey-blue eyes, as well as three pairs of black feathered wings that he normally keeps hidden.

Dino's usual attire consists of a purple-pink shirt, white pauldrons, and a green cloak. He can usually be seen wearing his twin swords sheathed around his waist.

Personality[]

Dino, as the title "Sleeping Ruler" implies, is a lethargic individual who finds solace in wasting his time on extended periods of sleep. Despite his indolent nature, he maintains a keen concern for his public image and prefers not to be the sole standout figure. Unabashed despite his status as a Demon Lord, he exhibited a swift expectation for Rimuru to provide him with accommodations and sustenance, displaying a degree of shamelessness.

Dino possesses a proclivity for deflecting blame and evading responsibility. When Guy Crimson questioned him about the Primordials and his failure to intervene in Rimuru's naming process, Dino promptly shifted the blame onto Rimuru, demonstrating his inclination to sidestep trouble. Additionally, he is easily swayed by gestures of goodwill, as seen when Rimuru offered him cream puffs; enamored by the food, Dino humorously pledged to become Rimuru's subordinate.

His sojourn at Tempest has brought about notable changes in Dino's disposition. Initially hesitant to engage in work, the allure of high-quality food, engaging entertainment, and an interesting job transformed him into a dedicated researcher. Dino's commitment to his friends is evident; even under Michael's Ultimate Dominion, he hesitated to confront them and only escalated his efforts when faced with adversity. This unwavering dedication led him to betray Feldway, a former colleague and superior, in order to assist in defeating Vega.

Background[]

Dino, like the rest of the Seven Angels of Origin, was born at the genesis of creation as a servant and chief advisor to the "Star King Dragon" Veldanava. By Veldanava's side, Dino served as his sword on the battlefield, becoming the greatest swordsman of that time. When the world was pacified and strife vanished, Veldanava tasked Dino with the role of the watcher, overseeing humanity and reporting their actions.

In accordance with this task, Dino traveled the world with Pico and Garasha, two other members of the Seven Angels of Origin. However, during Dino's absence, tragedy struck. Veldanava and his wife Lucia were both murdered by terrorists from another nation. Consumed by murderous rage, Dino unleashed his Ultimate Skill, Astarte, destroying the nation responsible. Yet, this revenge did not bring solace. Upon regaining reason, Dino found that everything had lost its meaning.

Contemplating destroying the world itself, he realized the futility of such an action. Dino, rational but lacking positivity, set limits on his actions and sealed off his power of 'Astarte, "Lord of Heaven"' due to feeling responsible for the destruction wrought in passion. This loss of purpose marked the moment when Dino became a Fallen Angel.

Fortunately, his colleagues, Pico and Gracia, were with him, preventing his disappearance from the world. Despite thousands of years passing, Dino continued his mission as a watcher, devoid of the meaning of life. His search led him to find Milim, the last remnant and daughter of Veldanava and Lucia. Reluctant to acknowledge Milim as his master, Dino observed her from the shadows, allowing Pico and Gracia to gather information while he lived in idleness, eventually becoming a Demon Lord.

When Milim went out of control, Guy and Ramiris intervened, and Dino assisted from the shadows, recognizing his role in preventing her from destroying the world. Later, he befriended Dagruel and freeloaded off him, finding a semblance of a daily life as a Demon Lord. However, a significant change occurred during Walpurgis when Rimuru became a Demon Lord.

The shock of witnessing Clayman, a perceived weakling, strike Milim awakened something within Dino. Concerned about Milim losing control, Dino investigated and discovered that Rimuru was the cause. Intrigued, he found a new meaning of life by touching the essence of Rimuru, a moment that felt like destiny rather than coincidence. This encounter ignited a newfound interest in Rimuru and marked a turning point in Dino's existence.
